For this bracelet design, I experimented with new materials: a wolf shaped pendant and black separator spacer beads. These components, being larger in size, required me to use my 8mm Map Jasper beads instead of my usual 6mm beads. The Map Jasper beads proved to be an excellent choice due to their versatility, complementing the black accents of the wolf and separator spacers seamlessly. This was a unique experience for me as it marked the first time I had to adapt my bead selection based on the size of an accessory.
The design process for this bracelet wasn’t without challenges. I encountered an imperfection in the initial assembly that I surprisingly missed during the first attempt. This necessitated cutting the piece and starting over from scratch, a reminder of the importance of attention to detail in crafting. Despite this setback, the redo allowed me to perfect the arrangement and ensure the final product was both visually cohesive and structurally sound.
Wolves have always been a personal favourite of mine, resonating deeply due to their dual nature of independence and strength. Known as lone wolves, they embody a solitary, self-reliant spirit, yet their strength in packs demonstrates their capacity for teamwork and unity. This dichotomy is something I admire and hope to channel into my work. Incorporating the wolf spacer bead felt like a tribute to this incredible animal and a step toward possibly aligning my brand identity with its symbolism in the future.
The final design, with its strong contrast of black and earthy tones, captured the essence of the wolf’s character. The Map Jasper beads brought a natural, rugged feel, while the black wolf and separators provided a bold and striking focal point. This bracelet feels like a meaningful piece that connects my craft with a deeper narrative.
