After completing my light blue and cross bead design, I decided to explore a similar arrangement pattern, focusing on alternating groups of 4 beads followed by 2 beads throughout the bracelet. This structure has proven effective in past designs, offering a balanced and rhythmic appearance. For this project, I gravitated toward a familiar combination of green and pink, evoking the freshness of a field in bloom. However, this time, I aimed to elevate the design by incorporating shiny spacer beads from my collection, beads I had been eager to experiment with but hadn’t yet used.
For the colour palette, I selected shiny pink spacer beads to accentuate the green beads and shiny green spacer beads to complement the pink ones. To create visual harmony, I placed the shiny pink spacer beads at the centre of the four green beads and alternated them with shiny green spacer beads between the two pink beads. This arrangement gave the design a deliberate, structured feel while allowing the shiny spacer beads to interact dynamically with the main colours.
As the bracelet took shape, I appreciated the simplicity and elegance of the arrangement. However, upon reflection, I noticed that the shiny spacer beads, despite their appealing colours, did not stand out as much as I had anticipated. The green and pink beads complemented each other beautifully, but the shine of the spacer beads seemed subdued against the dominant tones of the main beads. This realisation highlighted an important design lesson: even when colours pair well, the uniqueness of each component must be carefully showcased to achieve maximum impact.

This experience has given me valuable insight into how to use shiny spacer beads more effectively in future projects. Perhaps pairing them with neutral or darker tones could help their reflective quality shine more prominently. As I continue to refine my designs, I will revisit this concept with adjustments to ensure every element contributes fully to the bracelet’s aesthetic.
CONCLUSION
This bracelet was a meaningful experiment in incorporating shiny spacer beads into a balanced design. While the final piece was visually pleasing and cohesive, it also revealed opportunities for improvement. This iterative process is a vital part of my creative journey, helping me to push boundaries and better understand the interplay of colours and textures in my designs.
