Having explored various designs that heavily incorporated barrel spacer beads, I wanted to shift focus and experiment with cross spacer beads in my next creation. This decision allowed me to explore new ways of showcasing a distinct style while continuing to work with a colour palette that included light blue, a shade that had proven successful in previous projects. To add depth and contrast, I paired the light blue with darker blue beads, creating a gradient effect that complemented the cross spacer beads. My goal was not only to highlight the cross spacers but also to introduce a fresh bead arrangement, diverging from my usual patterns.
One aspect of bracelet design that fascinates me is the concept of a “front” and “back.” While chain bracelets have a defined clasp that indicates orientation, beaded bracelets leave this open to interpretation. For this piece, I decided to create a reversible design, where either side could serve as the “front” based on the wearer’s mood. On one side, I used light blue beads as the focal point to create a vibrant, eye catching look. On the other side, the darker blue beads paired with cross spacers exuded a bold, sophisticated character. This duality added versatility to the piece, making it suitable for various occasions.
The arrangement of the beads played a crucial role in achieving balance and harmony in the design. By limiting the use of barrel spacer beads and focusing on the cross spacers, I created a piece that felt both cohesive and distinct. The cross spacers served as anchors within the design, seamlessly tying the light and dark blue tones together. The result was a bracelet that showcased contrast while maintaining a unified aesthetic.

Reflecting on the completed bracelet, I was struck by its strong presence and versatility. The interplay between the light and dark tones, combined with the careful placement of spacer beads, created a piece that was visually striking yet understated. I am eager to test this arrangement with other colour combinations to explore how different hues interact with the cross spacer beads and overall design. This project reaffirmed my belief in the value of experimentation and its ability to unlock new creative perspectives.
CONCLUSION
This bracelet design marks a step forward in my exploration of bead arrangements and spacer bead utilisation. By shifting focus to cross spacers and introducing a reversible design concept, I was able to create a piece that felt both innovative and versatile. The success of this project inspires me to continue experimenting with new arrangements and colour palettes, ensuring that each design tells its own unique story. I look forward to seeing how these ideas evolve in future creations.
