Returning to an earlier design theme from Black Pink inspired bracelet design, I decided to explore another K-Pop inspired bracelet. The focus on yellow as a foundation made the choice of group clear, Big Bang, my sister’s favourite. This group holds a special place in her heart, and they were also my introduction to the world of K-Pop. Attending their concert together was a memorable experience, and it was during this event that I first encountered the concept of a lightstick, a signature accessory used by fans to support their idols. This got me thinking about how fans use various tools to express their devotion, and how beaded bracelets can serve a similar purpose by showcasing support or reflecting personal interests.
Big Bang’s group colours, black and yellow, provided an excellent foundation for the bracelet. To make the design even more meaningful, I incorporated five shiny spacer beads to represent each member of the group. Balancing the colours was the next challenge. To ensure the shiny spacer beads stood out, I positioned them between the black beads. This arrangement required a higher ratio of black beads to yellow ones, while still ensuring the yellow remained prominent. The result was a striking and balanced design that stayed true to its inspiration while allowing the yellow to shine as the focal point.
Although I was pleased with the final piece, the project raised questions about how I could elevate future designs to feel more premium. Even when a design feels polished, there’s always room for refinement. Whether it’s experimenting with higher quality materials, introducing unique patterns, or exploring new elements like engraved charms, there are countless ways to enhance the sophistication of a bracelet. These considerations inspire me to continuously push my creative boundaries.
CONCLUSION
This K-Pop-inspired bracelet was a joyful return to a meaningful theme and a great way to experiment with representing a fan’s devotion through design. While the bracelet felt complete, it also served as a reminder that every piece, no matter how polished, has potential for growth. With this in mind, I’m motivated to keep exploring new ideas, ensuring each design builds on the last to deliver something truly special.
