For my next bracelet design, I wanted to experiment with orange beads while incorporating spacer beads to enhance the overall aesthetic. However, my limited stock of orange beads required a complementary color to complete the design. As I sifted through my collection, blue stood out as the perfect match, creating a striking contrast. This color combination felt familiar, evoking a lingering image from somewhere, though I couldn’t place it initially. With my last design in mind, where I felt I may have overused barrel spacer beads, I decided to reduce their number for a more balanced arrangement, reminiscent of some of my past successful pieces.
Given that the blue beads would play a supporting role in this design, I opted to incorporate shiny blue spacer beads to seamlessly tie the two colors together. This decision not only highlighted the orange beads but also gave the bracelet a cohesive and polished look. As I assembled the piece, the arrangement began to take shape beautifully. To finalize the design, I added a rose pendant as a focal point to represent the front of the bracelet, a detail that I find helps anchor the overall aesthetic.
The finished bracelet was a vibrant success. The balance between the orange and blue beads, accented by the shiny blue spacers, made the colours pop while maintaining harmony. It was only after completing the piece that I realised the design closely resembled the colour scheme of the New York Knicks. This iconic team, often seen in movies and widely recognised by their blue and orange jerseys, seemed to have subconsciously inspired my choice of colours.
While I was thrilled with the outcome, I couldn’t help but imagine how the bracelet could evolve to represent the Knicks fanbase even more authentically. Replacing the rose pendant with a basketball themed charm would elevate the design and tie it more directly to the team. This realisation opens up new possibilities for creating fan inspired jewellery, combining personal creativity with cultural touchstones.

This bracelet design was an exciting exploration of colour combinations and spacer bead arrangements. The vibrant interplay of orange and blue, accented by shiny spacers, resulted in a visually stunning piece that subtly pays homage to the New York Knicks. The design demonstrated the importance of balance and adaptability in crafting unique jewellery. Moving forward, I am inspired to create more fan inspired pieces that connect with specific themes or communities, bringing even greater depth to my designs.
