After completing my first art inspired bracelet, I was excited to dive into the next creation. This time, my sister requested a bracelet themed around her favourite group, BTS. K-pop has been a major influence in both our lives, alongside our shared love for anime so I knew this piece had to be meaningful. Given that it was for her, I wanted to bring some extra sparkle into the design and knew that purple would be the main colour, as it’s strongly associated with BTS (I purple you!). Choosing the right shade of purple was essential because it would make the piece feel both personal and iconic. To make the bracelet visually appealing, I decided to mix in touches of lighter purple, adding depth and contrast without overshadowing the main colour.
As I designed the bracelet, I was mindful that it should be versatile and comfortable for my sister. I had her try it in various sizes, ensuring a perfect fit before finalising the piece. I added shiny spacers for a little “bling,” and in a nod to BTS’s seven members, I included exactly seven of these spacers to reflect the group’s unity and importance to her. Seeing the completed piece, I was thrilled with how well the purples and sparkly accents came together, making it both stylish and meaningful. My sister was equally pleased with it and it felt rewarding to create something so personal for her.
After finishing this bracelet, I realized I’d run out of purple beads, which meant pausing on my next idea, a bracelet inspired by my favourite K-pop group, (G)I-dle, using a mix of neon red and chic violet. However, inspiration continues to strike from all around. With Halloween approaching, I already have new ideas brewing, especially around colour combinations that capture the essence of the holiday.
CONCLUSION
My journey of creating personaliSed bracelets has just begun, and each project opens up new avenues for creativity and experimentation. Whether inspired by K-pop, anime, or seasonal themes, every piece reflects both the subject’s personality and my evolving skill in bead design. This journey excites me, and I’m eager to see what creative themes the next bracelet will bring.
