Receiving my new coloured beads today has filled me with excitement for my next phase of bead making projects. The addition of colour feels like unlocking a new creative avenue, opening endless possibilities to explore and experiment. As I unpacked the beads, I took a closer look at each box to understand not only the variety of colours but also the quality and detail of each type. I purchased three types: a box of multicoloured glass beads, tiger eye beads, and map jasper beads. Immediately, I found myself drawn to the tiger eye beads, whose rich hues felt more premium, especially as the light hit them, revealing a depth of colour and warmth that stood out. This attraction might be influenced by my appreciation for Thomas Sabo pieces, which often showcase tiger eye, a favourite of mine for its timeless appeal.
Exploring these new beads makes me realize that I’ll need to further experiment with other high quality bead types and colours to shape what I envision for my future collection. Premium beads like these add a sense of elegance, making each piece more special, which is exactly the direction I want to take as my designs evolve. Interestingly, while I had hoped to find 5mm beads, I ended up with 6mm and 8mm sizes. For now, these will work perfectly as I build and refine my designs. One subtle detail also stood out, one of the bead boxes included a small pouch. Though a small addition, it made me think about how important presentation can be, especially as I start considering how my future creations will be received by others. This added touch might be something I’ll incorporate when I consider packaging and presentation in the future.
I’m especially eager to start my next piece, which will take inspiration from an art piece I purchased at Comic Con. With colours in mind from that piece, this project will be a fantastic opportunity to see how my designs translate into vibrant colour combinations, capturing a piece of my own journey while connecting to the art that inspired it. Working with colour brings a new energy to my process and challenges me to think beyond the beads themselves such as about mood, story, and the impact each combination will have.
CONCLUSION
In the end, this journey is more than simply creating bead bracelets. Each decision from bead size to colour to presentation is a step toward shaping my unique vision. As I continue, I remind myself that every choice and experiment builds not only my skills but also my character. This process is about finding and expressing that special part of me and that’s what keeps me moving forward.
